Chapter 16：生活的真締

記得別人這樣的一個夢境...

I dreamed I had an interview with God.

"So you would like to interview me?" God asked.
"If you have the time" I said.
God smiled. "My time is eternity."
"What questions do you have in mind for me?"
"What surprises you most about humankind?"

God answered...

"That they get bored with childhood, they rush to grow up, and then long to be children again."
"That they lose their health to make money...and then lose their money to restore their health."
"That by thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present, such that they live in neither the present nor the future."
"That they live as if they will never die, and die as though they had never lived."


我們不都是這樣嗎？懶上班趕下班，搞small room politics＊，還是期待著上班，依依不捨地下班，掛念一下身邊的友人，感受一下生活的滿足？ When you work your true vocation, you'll glide through the day effortlessly as your endeavour prevails... 為甚麼老闆為忙碌而高興，而打工仔卻為繁重的工作而有所怨言？

幸運的城市老鼠走的是大馬路。努力讀書搞活動，然後找間大公司工作幾個年頭，也許不用到三十歲已有所成就。鄉巴鼠只有偏狹的小徑可走，還走得很辛苦，途中或會迷失、會跌倒、會失望，但他面對困難時那獨特的生命力，和他沿途所得到的寶藏，卻非常人可以擁有。

人生必定有起跌，現在當那一種老鼠不要緊，幹甚麼工作來賺取收入也不要緊，最重要是你生命中有一項你努力追求的　──　事業。

＊ 在一個細小的房間內錄音，基於聲音的過度反射，會產生所謂駐波(Standing Wave)和梳形濾波(Comb Filtering)等問題。這種非理想的聲學環境被稱為small room acoustics; 在細小的辦公室裡工作，基於人口的過度集中，會發生不少的人際關係問題，也許可這可稱作small room politics吧！
